I am a fifth year graduate student originally from the New Forest, England. I got my BSc in Biochemistry from the University of Surrey (also in England), before moving to New York in September 2011. My current research is studying the role of HSPB7 in the heart. We discovered that HSPB7 is regulated by GATA4 in the developing zebrafish embryo, and I am interested in identifying the molecular mechanisms of HSPB7 action in cardiogenesis and cardiac pathologies.
